Although I have an extensive music library, I don't have everything and the wife loves telling Alexa to play something so I signed up for Amazon Music Unlimited.

The selection is impressive but I am finding the song versions being used in many cases is terrible.

Example she wanted to hear some hair bands:
Normal Versions everyone knows.
Whitesnake: Here I go again

Whitelion: Wait

Amazon versions used:
Whitesnake: HIGA Cover?

Whitelion: Wait Ver2

Anyone else experience this?
If so AMU is not worth paying for.

What's the price compared to Spotify's $10?

Edit: Just saw, $8 w/ Prime. Seems to me Spotify is the way to go.

Spotify is much better. And you get get your Echo to default search Spotify by changing a setting or specify it to Alexa when you request a song.

IMO Spotify has the best streaming service. They've been at it longer than almost all the others so they have fine tuned it well. Their library covers about 99% of the stuff I need (maybe more), making playlists is easy, and their algorithms are pretty good for the stuff they customize for you, like Release Radar and Daily Mixes. An added bonus recently is a free subscription to Hulu (with ads) with Spotify premium.

Spotify has a similar lead for music that Netflix had in streaming content, they’ve been doing it for a while now and keep tweaking things to make it better that extend their lead over the competition
