Several years ago I mistakingly downloaded a song when searching for sound garden on limewire. When I uploaded it to my original iPod nano it was displayed as Chris Cornell, layne stayley etc. and the song was untitled.
I never researched it back then, but it has been at least 5 years since I heard the song last. Computer died and iPod was given away before I ever thought to look up this song.
All I can remember is something about driving down the road and it was among about getting over a girl to the best of my recall. It was definitely Chris Cornell singing, but for the life of my I can't figure out what this song is. Any help appreciated. Even though I know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I don't think it was totd, and it wasn't seasons...I don't know...just so helpless not remembering even one line to one of my favorite songs

It was his addition to the Free Willy 3 soundtrack that put SG on the map.

My first thought was Temple of the Dog. My second was Mad Season River of Deceit It's Layne singing not Chris, but I figured I'd give it a shot since many of those early p2p files were mislabeled.

Also it could be a Mother Love Bone cover.

I hate when I downloaded mislabeled p2p files. None of the above, and did Cornell sing with mlb

Definitely not andrew wood

Cornell approached the remnants of MLB after Wood died about releasing a single with two songs written in tribute to Andy. The single then birthed Temple of the Dog. It was after that, that Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, and Mudhoney formed.
ETA: Chris and Andy lived together as roommates, but as far as I know Chris never sang for mlb. Only for what later became totd.
