Some love from Bucc for S&C - list your top 5 S&C albums

Since the late great Robert Earl Davis I've been jammin to Screwed, slowed, stripped, loud and bangin whatever your preference is on what to call it

This list I will actually omit The GOAT DJ Screw from contention since all his was mostly compilations and no one ever actually approached him about doing a whole album from an artist

I want all of you to list your top 5 Albums that were regular albums that got Screwed and Chopped and are masterpieces, I'll count down my top 5only listing 1 album from each artist to keep it fair:



5. Trae - Life Goes On S.L.A.B.ed by Pollie Pop

This album stands alone as a classic without the SLAB treatment but the Screw apprentice Trae tabbed as the DJ to screw and chop his catalogue did a fantastic job channeling Screw's passion and technique and really pulls it off well.



4 . Do Or Die - Headz Or Tailz Screwed & Chopped-A-Lot by DJ D

Rap-A-Lot attempted a lot of S&C on mainstream hip hop in its hayday but none had as much critical acclaim as their S&C of Do Or Die and this was the first and best attempt at an already solid album. Something about Do or Die's flow and delivery along with the polish of this album being mostly ballad type hip hop songs with Johnny P and Twista and then add a collab with a Houston legend Scarface to the mix and it makes this album a classic S&C offering from Rap-A-Lot.



3. Devin The Dude - Waitin To Inhale Screwed & Chopped by DJ Domo

Devin has always been a dude who marches to the beat of his own drummer and that is why this collab works so well. DJ Domo scratches and chops and mixes a lot more than most S&C DJs and it absolutely works with the Dude. This album is a MUST listen for anyone who is a fan of S&C music truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word.



2. Pimp C - Pimpilation Screwed by DJ Michael "5000" Watts

This album was so highly anticipated because of Chad's release from Prison and it had EVERY artist who wanted to do a song with Chad and every influential Texas Hip Hop artist it seemed like and one of the best S&C DJs did his best work on it and Chad liked it so much that he decided to sell a S&C special edition with both regular and screwed version. That is a testament to Watts ability and that is what makes this easily one of the top S&C albums.



1. Chamillionaire - The Sound of Revenge Screwed and Chopped by OG Ron C

This one is a bit of a personal favorite. When Cham released TSOR again it was so highly anticipated because of how long it took for him to release a mainstream album but this album took little time after the regular was released to surface and universally be listed as a favorite in most screw heads catalogue including mine. Ron C is IMO the best left over since Screw passed away and he does marvelous work on mixing and chopping adding songs from the SE and remixes with Houston all stars like Pokey and Hawk etc and mixing with the tracks we all love from the regular album. It is the perfect combo of just enough scratch, chop and dip and stands alone as the top S&C'ed mainstream album, again another MUST HAVE/MUST LISTEN for anyone who is a fan of S&C music
