Pretty specific request, but this great weather has me itching for Spring time.

Does anyone have any instrumental guitarist/music of that classic beachy/Hawaiian sound? Not looking for reggae, Jack Johnson, or Jimmy Buffet pounding on the steel drums. More of that classic, slow Hawaiian sound (maybe a steel guitar) or that 50's California beach music.

Very much similar to this particular sound

Thanks

I listen to this album all the time, mellowing out in my Tiki Bar or at the beach. That guitar sound is called slack key guitar.

from Wiki--"Slack-key guitar is a fingerstyle genre of guitar music that originated in Hawaii. Its name refers to its characteristic open tunings: the English term is a translation of the Hawaiian ki ho?alu, which means "loosen the [tuning] key". Most slack-key tunings can be achieved by starting with a guitar in standard tuning and detuning or "slacking" one or more of the strings until the six strings form a single chord, frequently G major."

One of my favorite Christmas albums is actually of carols played in this style. Most folks ask what the hell I'm playing at the holidays when I put it on...
