Setting Up Music For Someone Who Isn't Tech Savvy

My mom, who is 71 yrs old, wants me to set her up with music. She knows someone who got "one of those things that plays music that you can put headphones in, but its not a phone and it is little". I am assuming she is talking about a nano.
If I get her a nano, it can pick up radio stations right? I can add it as one of my devices on my itunes account, but I will have to download a bunch of music she likes. As much music as I have, I only have some music she likes.. Either way has anyone had experience doing this for someone?

How much you wanna spend?
I would get an all in one type system for her with knobs and buttons as people in their 70's usually have trouble with downloads and streaming.
Not that they are dumb...they just didn't grow up with it and aren't up for learning new things, generally.
