4/10 - To be fair, it's 5:45 am...I'm reading the news, having my coffee, and listening to some music. Down isn't exactly what I'm looking for right now.

9/10 - this is such a great song. There's plenty of depth and orchestration to it, even though it sounds simple on the surface. I love these type of songs. My favorite part is when she starts singing about Sara. There's a subtleness to her singing up to that point, and then the strength of her voice strikes the emotional nerve. Very powerful!

6/10 music is on point, but the vocals kept turning me off

5/10 - interesting and tame at the same time. I can't quite put my finger on its pulse. I can see repeated listens raising this rating for me
David Garza - Kinder - a friend turned me onto this record at release in the late 90's, and it's one that has always stuck with me. I still revisit it to this day. If you dig this, I highly recommend tracking it down.

7/10. Was going to give it a 6/10, but damnit if you didn't just remind me of a long lost tune from a long lost artist and of A long lost summer.
I spent the summer of 1998 (I think), before my junior year in high school, at a beach house in North Carolina and met a local girl named Elise. We would drive around in the evenings, smoke, drink cheap booze and fool around...and she loved this fricking album. She would crank it with the windows rolled down. I specifically remember the tracks "slave" & "discoball world" really catchy. Haven't thought of Dah-Veed Garza, Elise or that summer in a long time. Great memories.

Awesome!

Back to the ratings...
6/10 good, mellow track. These type of songs are difficult to rate on first listen, because they require repeat listenings in order to truly gauge them. I like it though; it reminds me of Red House Painters

7/10 - very nice "chill wave" track. Reminds me a little of Small Black combined with Beach House.

7/10. Like the arrangement, it's unique. Not crazy about his voice.

5/10 - They've just never done it for me. They aren't bad; I just don't see the appeal.

8/10 Always loved Fleetwood Mac. My wife is actually named after Lindsey Buckingham. Not my favorite song from them, but it's good.

I consider myself a pretty decent Bon Iver fan, even listen to Volcano Choir, but some kind of way I had never heard of the Shouting Matches. As for the song, I'm not a huge blues rock guy, but I still enjoyed it a good bit.

8/10 - very nice song! he is quite talented, and I will look into him further. his guitar work is similar to Nick Drake
Nick Cave - Stagger Lee Live - be warned there is some potty language in this one
That was the live version, but here's the studio one which is quite different I couldn't decide which to post, so here's both. The live one is quite cool though (IMO)

Haven´t heard Nick Cave, nor Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for eons. Like it, due to the memories.
7.5/10
Here´s a blow from the past, I´d like to know if anyone recognizes the guitar:

8/5 - I have never heard of Ian Hunter, and I feel shameful for it. I was tapping my toes the entire song. Good stuff!

Had never heard that one before, but like most Cure songs I know, it was dark and good. This one will be a lot more upbeat. The members of this band were LSU students in the early 2000s.
