Riley Gale. Happened last night. No cause stated yet. These guys were up and coming in metal too. Sucks. Article states that he formed the band so who knows if the others will keep it going or not.

I always found their music to be overrated and the one time I saw them they talked about politics too much. The band had a bright future though.

They kicked some serious arse when I saw them open for Cannibal Corpse. It’s weird. I don’t really recall a lot of political talk. Not doubting you though because the article states how political he was. I don’t share his political views either so I would think I’d remember. No matter. Maybe I was at the bar getting more beer when he got on his soapbox.

If you saw them as headliners then maybe that’s why I didn’t get the preaching, since they had a shorter time limit.

The lineup I saw was Black Dahlia Murder, Napalm Death, Power Trip, and Abnormality. Power Trip's show was the one I liked the least but that's not to say it was bad. I had heard the name but wasn't too familiar with their music but when the singer had to keep saying frick Donald Trump it kind of turned me off.

Compare that to Napalm Death, who are well known lefties and say some political stuff but do it in a more civilized manor. I don't want to hate to on Power Trip too much because I think they were about to blow up but I didn't like them as much as the critics did.

Rock and roll doesn't have an "old timers" day.

Okay well that’s good to know. Would’ve pissed me off for sure. Odd because it was about a year after the election when I saw them. Like I said he may have said it while I was at the bar or something.

Or maybe Cannibal Corpse told him to keep the political shite quiet? Who knows?

Oh well. frick ‘m.

I saw them three years ago with Obituary and Exodus. I don’t remember any political talk. Great show.

Sad day here in Texas. I have been going to shows in Dallas for a long, long time. I have shot countless photos of Riley and his band since 2009. I know him and all the band members. Riley comes from hardcore and punk and DIY roots. He built the Dallas hardcore scene up from a hand full of kids to pulling 200-300 people to pay to come to a show at small venue or DIY spot on a week day.
A lot of my friends down here are hurting.
One of the best things about him was he was real and one of us. He was all for putting on for you friends and taking care of your friends.
Just recently he was asked by Ice-T to do part of a song with Body Count. They shot a remote video for it due to Covid. Riley was stoked.
Rest in POWER

Legit cool story.

Sorry about the pain and hurt. It is clear he was a hard working guy.

Do y’all know the cause yet?

Was just starting to get into them a little. It took a while for them to grow on me but I was starting to like. I don’t open up to newer bands easily at first. Shame.

Sucks. I enjoy them. I like the guitar tones and the vocals aren’t too Cookie Monster
