Baws, this here is Americana at it's finest. Reminds me of my granddaddy jones, flipping a lure out in guntersville lake. Pulling in crappie and cleaning them for a fish fry. Man, those were the days. God bless this sweet country and the sweet times the country towns of Alabama brought me.

Thanks for mentioning this. Huge Sturgill fan. Always thought this should have been a hit and I wish he’d play it in concert. It does take you back to to a time long gone when times were simple.
Panbowl is a real place

May be his best song from his best album. Can't wait to hear what he has in store for album #4.

Funny, i was up in the mountains last weekend and played it when we were drinking around the bonfire
When he belts that line "she was the first girl that ever broke my heart" it always gives me chills

Damn strong tune. I can smell summers at my grandparents when I hear it, too.
I hope Sturgill is coming out with something soon. He is dabbling in a CBS movie, which, mehhh kinda goes against what he has been about, but I hope it is quality at least.
That next record tho...PLENTY of world topics to throw darts at for that ole baw, Sturg when he puts pen on paper.

Same here. I enjoy my adult life, but this song really just makes you miss the innocence of youth. It’s not my favorite of his, but one of the easiest to relate to coming from a tight knit family and a small community.
