Nick Drake died 40 years ago last week at age 25, in near total obscurity.

LINK Bryter Layter album
LINK One of these Things First
LINK Pink Moon
And yet improbably has become a staple of millions of music collections around the world. He died thinking nobody would ever hear his music.
Here's to the brilliant, melancholy and poignant music of Nick Drake.
Sunday Morning coffee would not be the same without him.

That happens all to often to those who are so ahead of their times, unfortunately.

Was he the one who stabbed himself in the chest?
ETA: Nevermind, that was Elliott Smith. I get the two confused for some reason.

It took a silly little VW commercial for me to discover Nick Drake. Great album.

Not a big fan, but I'd kill to write a song as good as Pink Moon or From the Morning.
