Listened to a few songs released before today, overall meh on them, but the first track "No Fun" is really good.

The first few tracks they released have grown on me. But I do feel like overall it's a little over produced. Not sure if Skrillex was the best avenue to explore. I still like several songs though after one full listen

Listened to a few also. Very meh to just not good at all.

Morning View and Make Yourself were so good. Great for that time and still is great but after that...

Dirk Lance leaving was really when they took a different turn creatively. I still enjoyed Crow & Light Grenades...

I actually think "If Not Now, When?" is a really good record top to bottom

What's funny is that Dirk had little to do with the song writing. Crow was still good. Then I think they got fed up with the label, mailed in the next two albums (If Not Now When was just the singer and guitarist writing all of it).

I think I like three tracks of this CD. It's better than the last one at least. Skrillex was a terrible choice. There's a lot of really good ideas that don't seem fleshed out and it makes most tracks sound like generic surfer rock.

I really like
No Fun
Glitter bomb
Lonliest
Throw out the Map
Make no sound in the digital rain forest

My thoughts exactly.

8 is easily the best of their new stuff, but doesn't come close to morning view or light grenades.

A few songs on 8 wanted to be early 2000's incubus, but something was missing.

After a few listens, I give 8 a 6/10. Favorite song: loneliest. I also like the instrumental 'Make no sound in the digital forest'

I actually really liked Trust Fall and Absolution Calling off their EP released before 8. Gonna have to give this more chances apparently. First impression felt pretty meh.

This is one of the few songs that show Incubus progressing and showing their musical ability. I know it's there, Loneliest is a different but well executed song. Make No Sound in the Digital Forest is fantastic obviously.

All in all I think their rock/uptempo songs are more childish in nature. I can't explain it.

The close is a nice "hard rock" song - Throw out the Map.
