I used to use the Google Play Music app for playlists while driving, tailgating, general life, etc.

A while back Google made us move to the YouTube music app, which is straight garbage. The shuffle feature on playlists will often play the same artist's songs back to back to back, when connected to bluetooth in my truck the app will often glitch out, I can't just pay for an individual song to download like the google app allowed me to do.

Basically, what I'm looking for is an app that will allow me to pay for individual song downloads instead of paying a monthly fee for the privilege of using their app. I already have a large music collection, so I may download one to two songs a month. And I want a shuffle feature that actually shuffles the songs in a playlist.

Seems like you'd want Apple music if you don't want a monthly fee but want to listen to downloaded content mostly. I believe you can use the free version and import your downloads.

You mean iTunes?

eta: I see now. I have an android phone, so I guess I can link itunes on my PC to the apple music app on my phone.

YouTube Music really is a massive step backwards from Google Play Music. It didn't even seem to acknowledge a lot of my likes that were supposed to come over during the transfer to Youtube. I'm probably going to jump over to Tidal at some point.

Streaming quality. Tidal prioritizes high resolution audio streaming.
