Mixtape of the year so far (2012)??

Like those three. I also nominate Rich Forever by Rick Ross, KRIT's tape, and Church Clothes by Lecrae. Hello Forever by The Pro Letarians is also solid. Looks like it's going to be a strong summer, however it's been a weak year thus far.

Rick Ross

Yessir, can't wait for the summer albums to start rolling! Didn't even know about the Ace Hood - Meek Mill and T.I.-B.o.B collabs. Those should be nasty. Looking forward to all those that you listed though I haven't listened to much K'naan. Hopefully Lupe can return to form with F&L. Plus Nas and Curren$y are coming as well, and supposedly a Meek Mill - J. Cole - Big Sean collab mixtape.

A little background on the projects I mentioned though I'm sure you're very familiar with Ross and KRIT. Also for people that don't follow the music as closely.

Rich Forever - Rick Ross: Same old Ross. Good beats. Good features. A few filler tracks I could do without, but there's some nice standouts. Of course, Stay Schemin' with Drake. Triple Beam Dreams with Nas and Rich Forever with John Legend are some of my favorites from it.

4Eva N A Day - Big KRIT: Same old KRIT. Solid beats. Nice balance between introspective lyrics and bangers. True southern sound complete with his southern accent. . Favorites: Wake Up, Boobie Miles, Temptation, Sky Club, Red Eye, Insomnia.

Hello, Forever - The Pro Letarians: Rapper / producer duo from college in Indiana. Follow up mixtape to their debut The Pregame. Been making music together for less than a year, I believe. I love the beats. Really good sampling. Hard to compare them to anyone. Favorite tracks: Before The Snow, Let It Be, Forever, Sleepless Dreamers, For You.

Church Clothes - Lecrae: Christian rapper. Features (No) Malice from The Clipse, production from Boi-1da, 9th Wonder, and S1, and hosted by Don Cannon. Dunno what your view is on Christian rappers so some of the tracks may seem "preachy". This might be my favorite project from him simply because of the production.

Oh, and Taylor Allderdice by Wiz Khalifa has a handful of tracks that I like.



PS: how nasty was Kendrick's verse on Meek's tape?

I would have said Starvation yesterday. Downloaded DreamChasers2 last night, an have listened to it on repeat for 4 hours at work this morning.
