Had it on repeat when it came out a couple weeks ago. I was really anxious to hear the studio version after hearing it live at Hangout Fest in May
It’s really grown on me. That last 45 seconds is a jam. Would be a helluva song at a Halloween party

I love MGMT, but that was kind of difficult to listen to, I still look forward to the new album though.

To each their own but this song is more catchy than anything off their last two albums. And it's not even close

Does being catchy make it a good song?

Come on. You get his point. Catchiness by itself does not make music enjoyable to everyone.

Catchiness does however make music more accessible or listenable to more people. Also catchy is more objective than better which is pretty subjective.
Although I do think this song is better than anything MGMT put out on their last two albums I understand it might not be for everybody.
But it's hard to deny the catchiness of the song whether you like it or not. And that catchiness is something that wasn't on either of the last two albums and is a return to Oracular Spectacular and Metanoia.
Which was the whole point of my thread

Congratulations was their masterpiece. Although, I’ve enjoyed all of their albums.

After several listens, I dig the new song. I haven't listened much since after their second album.
