I am old and grew up listening to all of the Monkees albums handed down from an older sibling. The music has some nostalgic value but nothing great.
Just recently heard the song Me and Magdalena. Had never heard it before and had to look it up. Recorded by The Monkees (or at least Mike Nesmith and Mickey Dolenz) from 2016. Produced by Adam Schlessinger from Fountains of Wayne.
It is a beautiful haunting song and recommend it if you have never heard it before.

Saw them not long before Nesmith passed away, they played this and it was fantastic.
