MB Bass Players: Short Scale or Regular Scale Bass?

Been looking at buying a bass to play around with again. Have noticed a proliferation of short scale basses on the market now, like the Squier modifier Jaguar basses.
Anyone have experience owning a short scale bass? The weight of the bass and size of my hands aren't the problem. I just like the idea of being able to reach notes easier and play notes faster--especially now that I'm playing more on my electric guitar.
Thoughts?

Go play some short scale basses at a store/shop and see how you like them

Using a regular scale bass is only going to make you better at guitar, in my opinion.
