I saw Little Richard at Beale Street about 10 years ago. He rocked it good. Had the whole Louis Jordan horn section set up. Good times.

Little Richard is an American treasure. I had no idea he was that old.

So underrated, he's the greatest rock singer ever, a complete pioneer and, at the time, the epitome of the rock and roll ethos. To me, he's the absolute inventor of rock and roll.

That was a really good read. Thanks for posting.

My dad took me to see him when I was about 14. I knew who little Richard was, but I had no appreciation for what I was seeing.

I saw him open for Buffett in NOLA in June '93. He was hilarious and put on a damn good show.
