Just got back from seeing Starship

Saw Mickey Thomas and Starship tonight at the Louisiana Seafood Festival in NOLA. Dude still has incredible pipes at the ripe old age of 65! The girl singing the Grace Slick parts has an extremely powerful voice too. They were killer!

Yeah Jax they played We Built This City, Sarah, Jane etc. They even went back and played some Jefferson Airplane like White Rabbit. Great stuff!

Have you seen them? I doubt you would say that if you had. The whole band (save for the chick singer) are world class musicians with long resumes. The two singers in this band are two of the best in the business and their whole catalogue (besides We Built This City) is excellent. Mickey is also the original singer of the Elvin Bishop Band's classic song "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" which he knocked out of the park.

Original members Paul Kantor, David Freiberg an occasionally some other former members have been touring with a Grace Slick replacement that is pretty good. They get to legally use the full name "Jefferson Starship "
