I watched the whole thing last night driving home from my camp. Funny watching them transition from young and bombed out of their gourd to old and sober. Thanks for the post

At this point in time, cash was no longer a country artist but a americana artist. He went back to his rockabilly roots and sang his 50s classics. Then he started cover songs for rock artists such as sound garden, Tom Petty, Red hot chili peppers and others.

This is a rejuvenated Cash that was allowed to his sing his songs that Columbia wouldn't allow. If he only was about 25-30 years younger, he would be hugely popular again.
