It's not often when I agree with Jester on much of anything, but for once he's spot on. JB was a country singer/songwriter in the early/mid '70's during his time in NOLA. He even headlined the old Country Music Fest at the state fairgrounds a couple of times and co-wrote Railroad Lady with Jerry Jeff. He was country without the backing of Nashvegas.
Those first few rekkids were really well-written, but I had to jump off the shrimp boat when Cheeseburger In Paradise got way too much airplay.

"Bama Breeze" my all time favorite buffet song. how am i the first person to mention this song
I like Bama Breeze a lot. I also like Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On from the Take the Weather With You album as well. There are some listenable songs on Buffet Hotel, and I actually like Tides and Rocket That Grandpa Rode from Songs From St. Somewhere.
But the last 8-10 albums you can tell he has gotten much more comfortable being a brand and the albums/songs are more of an after thought.
I saw him live for about 5 straight years, and each show you may hear three songs that were on an album released later than the mid 90s. Even he doesn't seem to be as enamored with the newer stuff.
