The band from the 70's? I'm sure I saw them at the Purple Peacock in Eunice a few times and they kicked arse, but those were hazy crazy days.

Formed in 1967, there were two incarnations, the original, and one in the 80s. The original manager Billy Powell, usually played the Hammond B3 on 1 or 2 songs, He ended up running a a construction company in BR, he still had the Hammond B3 in has office a few years ago, but has since passed away. The band covered some pretty complex music that most bands of that era didn't try to attempt, songs that featured multi-part vocal harmonies, and dual guitar solos such as Yes,"Seen all Good People", Steely Dan "Reelin in the Years", Doobies "Black Water", Jethro Tull"Aqualung" with the flute solos. "Stairway to Heaven" featuring a Fender electric 12 string, and flute intro.

He just passed away last Feb.

I got to jam with him a few times, his isoceles stories were

Saw them a couple times @ Kyrle's Club in Mansura in the early '80s. Ferdy is still active on FB, mostly posts neat music trivia. Was one of the better cover bands in this area, at that time.
