Last Panic show I attended I brought my Bose headphones and listened to Island Tour in my seat.

southeastern usa, i guess they win if we're talking 30 years

world, lol no

if they didn't ruin their shows with bad originals from their most recent records i might still consider seeing them.

There are some good ones on their new album. Honky Red is incredible, can't get enough of that tune.

It's a folk song by Murray McLauchlan that Panic turned into a dirty rock and roll tune.

I think a better question may be, why does WSP remain such a popular band. Sales and show numbers def dwindling but what a run.

There was a Foo Fighters thread about being least objectionable. I think the same can be said for WSP in their genre.

Foo Fighters for "pop rock" and WSP for "pop jam"

Numbers are dwindling, but they're still the 2nd most popular band in their genre. Well third, now that Dead & Company are touring. Everyone is getting older, and Jambands don't draw the college kids like they used to. That's being replaced by EDM.

This entire winter tour minus one show is sold out. The four runs before all sold out Playa, NYE, Halloween, & Milwookie.

They play about 70 shows a year, all with pretty good numbers. That says something about a band who has been going at it for 30 years.

I don't know what your "pop jam" reference means though

What is your generation, and what bands are part of your generation as opposed to other generations? The Rolling Stones are still together, so technically they are a band of your generation. I think the Rolling Stones are, or at least were, a much better band than Widespread Panic by anyone's measure.
