"There are 1000s of undiscovered (insert artist) that can do what he does."

Well yeah, there's nobody that is so unique that they can't be mimicked or bested. Nobody in history can't be covered. In fact, the better the musician, the more covers. There isn't 1 musician that is so unique that they totally own a talent that average people can't or don't have the ability to do.

If you think otherwise post your case...

After posting "and this affects you how exactly?" you may realize the effects it has and how it affects you.

There is no one in the world like Richie Kotzen. There are VERY few Joe Bonamassa's or Gary Moore's. There are literally 1000's of mediocre singer/songwriter pop artists.

Its a conversation.

How do you know this? Have you heard what everyone in the entire world has to offer?

I can 100% no doubt about it guarantee you that Richie Kotzen is unique and there is no one else like him. He is one of the best vocalist in the world and happens to be one of the best guitar players in the world as well. He writes all of his own music and records every single instrument himself on almost all of his albums. And yes, making a statement about Bonamassa being unique is difficult because there are soooo many guitar players in the world, but he's cut from a very different cloth than just about any. He's untouchable in the blues/rock category, as was Gary Moore in his time.

I don't necessarily base a person's musicianship off of how well they can mimic another persons music alone. It would be best to base it off of how well a person creates his/her own music and the types of substance that music carries.

ETA: I think I worded this wrong.

Point taken. But it's a double standard to use that argument against another musician.
