I have no idea what is going on in that video, but whatever it is, it is rad as frick.
You might also check out Perturbator and Scandroid, although admittedly Scandroid edges closer to retrowave than stoner metal. Still, all three are side projects of metal musicians, so they're worth checking out.
Lazerhawk and Dynatron are worth looking into as well.

I am absolutely the wrong person to ask about what young people are listening to these days. 
If you want poppier music in the same vein as the other stuff I recommended, check out Gunship and The Midnight. If you want a more dance-y vibe, check out Mega Drive.
