Musically seeing Brian May and Roger Taylor perform live with Paul Rodgers 1x was much better than seeing them perform live 3x with Adam Lambert. Paul Rodgers is a real rock singer whereas Adam Lambert isn't and is simply "acting the part".
That being said when I saw them with Rodgers in San Diego on Apr 1, 2006 that 9,000 seat arena was only 2/3 full whereas the 3x I've seen them with Lambert, 2x in Houston and 1x in NOLA, were all sold out.
The 2008 album "Cosmos Rocks" with May, Taylor and Rodgers was pretty good but didn't sell very well.

Marc Martel can really do Freddie, and play the piano. He would have been a better choice, IMO, and I have nothing against Lambert
I went to see Black Jacket Symphony a year or two ago, and they played two sets, 1st set the A Night At The Opera album, 2nd set greatest hits + a few fan favorites. Anyway, Martel was in tow with the band and sang with them for the entire show, and he crushed it on vocals. He did a great job pumping the crowd up too, and I actually had a better time that night than I did at the many non-cover acts I'd seen in recent years.

Personally I think acts like Queen, Journey, Styx, etc. should call it quits. Journey was Steve Perry, that's when they were at the top. Queen needed Freddie Mercury. without him they are just a tribute band for themselves. Some bands need their original lineups especially frontmen. Queen is one of them.

In fairness to Brian and Roger, I don't think they have any delusions that they're competing with their past, and they'd even probably admit this lineup pretty much IS a tribute act. Hell, they even give Lambert's name co-billing, just to drive the point further...
