Guitar experiment that has turned out great, I probably shouldn't share..

but there are some good folks on here, so I don't mind. I had a cheap Ventura thin body electric/acoustic cutaway guitar that just didn't sound very good, I decided to put a high strung Nashville tuning on it.

If yall don't know about this, you basically just use the lighter strings off of a 12 string set and make a new nut.
I got the idea though, to use one of the bottom E-strings on the top. It works great, you get a sound that is somewhere between a mandolin/banjo/resonator guitar mixed together.

The Blues and country shuffles, sound amazing. Gonna do it on one of my classic vibe telecasters. I like it that much.

Mark Knopler's "Romeo and Juliet" would probably sound good on it.

I put a Capo on the 5th Fret for the higher sound.

That's the only song I use a capo on.

Really, almost anything sounds good, but I would hesitate to play it as a solo instrument and use it more as a backing instrument.
So far key of Emajor and Amajor, work the best where you can pick some blues accents on those top 2 strings. It really sounds old school.
