Good programs for producing rap beats and such?

Okay I've been a percussionist for over 7 years (main instrument snare) but I can also play the keys and various other instruments. Point is I'm good with music and I want to get into producing it, what in your opinion is the best program to use to produce, also what keyboard?

can I suggest you post this question to reddit's hiphopheads subreddit? You will get a ton of advice there and there are tons of producers there.

FLstudio or ProTools. Both are legit. I think FLstudio comes with a free demo that lets you tinker with just about everything for a few days.
