Good beginner guitar book?

guitar grimoire. shows every scale in every key and mode across the entire neck. its in tabs and notation.

look into the lick library series of videos. they are specific, but at least you are watching someone play it to get the feel of how it goes. most of them are on demonoid.

get john petruccis rock discipline. its a series of drills, warm ups, and exercises to make you better. its excruciatingly hard, but not because the ideas are advance, but simply because it pushes the dexterity to the limit. its as good for beginners as advanced.
