The protests in Hong Kong have me feeling very anti government / anarchic / new world order-y so I’ve been listening to GYBE. Y’all can probably tell I enjoy post rock a good deal and these guys along with a Mogwai are the pinnacle imo

Haven't listened in years, but I can always appreciate some GY!BE.

You are clearly the post-rock guy on this board.
And I'm here for it
Dead Flag Blues is a top 10 all time song. Very fitting with this political climate.

Saw them open for Nails a few years ago. They were fantastic.

I saw them live once. I made some big mistakes.
1) I got front row on the left side. I was so excited and it was my birthday and it seemed like a good idea.
2) I wasn't even thinking about ear protection back then
It was unquestionably the loudest show I've been to. I can distinctly remember them going into a sort of post-rock jam of absolute chaos. It was so loud and dissonant that I almost threw up from it, haha. Not my proudest moment.
But aside from a few moments of discomfort and the ringing in my ears for days, it was stellar! Met Efrim afterward and he was super nice.

Nice. Took my son to see a Mogwai and we stood right up front, incredibly loud as well,

Saw Mogwai recently and forgot hearing protection and regretted it immensely. Even trying to stand in the back by the bar towards the end didn't help, there was no escape and felt like my head was going to explode. Great show otherwise, love all the bands mentioned also.

Check out this band called Emery Reel, it was some good post rock. Try "His Hammer is my Axe". I can’t find a YouTube vid to link to of it but it looks like they have on Spotify
