Any Pianists in the house? I watched the documentary on AXS last night, "Genius Within - The inner life of Glenn Gould". I had never heard of him (before my time) prior. What a genius of a musician playing at a never seen before degree of difficulty. Worth the watch!!! Have any of you ever heard of him?

I am not a Classical Music guy or Piano player, plus he was popular around the time I was born. I was amazed at his talent and popularity. Dude was like a rock star. How do you know of him?

I listen to classical music. Gould is particularly famous for his recording of "The Goldberg Variations" and the distracting humming he does throughout.

I loved his ability to break down original compositions then put them back together in his own style. His music was like a "Classical Piano Remix". Amazing.......

I believe it was the re-recording on CBS in the early 80's that was notorious for the humming. I have it on CD but haven't listened to it in a long time.

Great, yes.

If you watch and listen to AJ Croce or Ben Folds play I have to think that they are equally talented just in different genres.
