Should be a good show. Just bought some balcony tickets. Never been to the civic before. how are the balcony tickets?

I don't mean to derail your thread, but why is it that they have become the 'IT' band for most of the heavy metal community?

I get that their theatrics are pretty cool to see live, but I don't consider them on par with the once-in-a-generation-type live performers such as Cooper, Manson, or Slipknot.

I've seen Cooper live. He's just beyond great live. But i've watched manson and slipknot live on youtube and it doesn't seem that impressive. Maybe I just don't like manson or slipknot's music. I think Ghost is on a totally different level then those two honestly.

Good sight line.

With balcony tickets you can also walk down to the floor if you want.

Early Slipknot had about as much raw energy and excitement as possible for a metal show. To see nine guys in jump suits running around or headbanging their asses off is an incredible sight. Plus, their pyrotechnics are impressive, as is their stage display.

Manson's gestures and grandiosity is what made him spectacular during the '90s. However, he sounds like shite live so I could see why you wouldn't be impressed.

I saw Ghost at the Civic last year and they were great. I've seen both Slipknot and Manson this year and they were just ok at best. Slipknot was pretty good 10 years ago though, never saw Manson in his prime.

I'm going to see Slipknot with Lamb of God at The Woodlands. The big thing I've noticed as of late is that Corey's voice is fried and he can no longer scream like he used to. What makes it just as bad is that it appear's Randy Blythe's voice is starting to falter as well.

However, Slipknot killed it when I saw them in 2012.
