no troll. that's how i really feel and said so in many other tool threads. they had to come back to earth eventually.

I know you're trolling, but I'll play along. You don't think "Rosetta Stoned" is one of Tool's very best songs?
no, i don't, and i hope you're not about to ask me for a detailed explanation why.

I don't believe you're a Tool fan because "Rosetta Stoned" is widely regarded as one of Tool's very best songs (if not the best) by Tool fans and music critics. It's a masterful arrangement in all aspects.

Therefore, I can't take you seriously, unless you're just one of those casual "radio" Tool fans or cannot pull yourself out of the 1990s.

Any of Tool's albums are great. I would say Lateralus is my next favorite after Aenima. I can't wait for their next album.

I know this is hard for you to accept, but music is subjective. For every fan or critic that thinks Rosetta Stoned" is their best song, I'm sure there is at least one who thinks Lateralus is their best song.

On what planet do you live on that there are "casual radio tool fans"?

oh so now tool is playing for the critics? because back in the day, the real tool fans appreciated the anti-authority and non-conformist themes in opiate and undertow. maynard himself would have given a big frick you to popular opinion. he used to mock "fret(ting) for your latte and fret(ting) for your prozac," now he frets for the rainy season in his vineyard. just further proof how far the tool brand has fallen.

Maynard has always mocked fans...that's exactly what "Rosetta Stoned" is about!

From a technical point of view, though, "Rosetta Stoned" is a masterpiece.

well, to be fair to Maynard, the rainy season is a necessity for a healthy crop. Just sayin...

It's a congratulatory offer to the best song on a rather blah Tool album. That doesn't mean it was bad, it just means each Tool effort progressively got better and 10k Days seemed like such a step back to something mediocre. Fans weren't expecting that. People 11 years later are still awaiting anxiously a new ablum b/c 10,000 Days was that album.

I'm about the same age as you Killz and been listening since Opiate, but the stereosocpy artwork was about the coolest thing on that album.

Exactly.

A "Tool fan" claiming Rosetta Stoned sucks is just ludicrous. He actually said Rosetta Stoned is just throwaway material from Lateralus. L...O...L. I understand people have different opinions, but claiming Rosetta Stoned is junk material is simply an obvious troll.

He's either trolling or he hasn't really listened to Rosetta Stoned. I'm confident he's trolling.

Rosetta Stoned doesn't standout because 10,000 Days was weak.

Rosetta Stoned stands out because it's a masterpiece.

Rosetta Stoned would stand out if included on ANY Tool album because it's simply an incredible song. It's their finest effort to date.

If they release an album full of Rosetta Stoned-level masterpieces...it'll be a gargantuan accomplishment in music.

Rosetta Stoned is the best Tool song to date. No debate.

OP, be sure to update how you feel about 10K days after you've digested their other albums. and don't just side with me because i'm a popular poster and mizzoukills is an annoying homer.

OP, be sure to update how you feel about 10K days after you've listened to their preceding albums and after you've listened to "Rosetta Stoned" a few times.

Don't side with me because link is a trolling prick but rather because you'll realize I'm right.

"Rosetta Stoned" is their most complex masterful song to date...

Possibly the douchiest thing I've seen on here. Music is about taste. Just because someone doesn't like a particular song that you find to be excellent doesn't make them any less of a fan.

Keep your shite posting to the other boards.

Are you asking the faux Tool fans or the real tool fans?

Asking for a friend.
