PanterA is all you need brotha!
At the risk of sealing my fate next time I'm in the pit, I just can't get into them.
I've sincerely tried to give them a chance, mainly because Anselmo is such a huge Saints fan, but thrash metal in general has that narcissistic watch-how-fast-loud-angry-I-can-play-this-instrument at the risk of every song sounding un-melodic & indulgent.
Good example: I just listened to Far Beyond Driven. Pantera sounds like they use a crappy studio drum machine.
I know they don't actually use a machine and Vinnie Paul must be an absolute beast to be able replicate that speed on a snare in real life. But if it sounds the same as a drum machine on a record, then wouldn't you agree they accomplished nothing more than what a dubstep DJ would record?
