The Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had at least 10 substances in his body when he died suddenly in Bogotá, according to a preliminary toxicology test carried out by Colombian authorities.

The 50-year-old musician was found dead in his hotel room on Friday afternoon, hours before the band was due to perform at Colombia’s Estéreo Picnic festival as part of its South American tour. The Grammy award-winning group had then been due to headline one of Brazil’s biggest music festivals on Sunday night.

On Saturday, Colombia’s attorney general’s office said analysis of Hawkins’ urine found traces of marijuana, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants and benzodiazepines, which can be used to treat insomnia or anxiety.

mixture of heroin and xanax almost always leads to a bad situation.

The Colombian magazine Semana claimed Hawkins died after a sudden cardiac arrest caused by an overdose of heroin, antidepressants and benzodiazepines. The magazine said forensic medical experts had been shocked by how swollen the musician’s heart had become.

Nine Inch Nails have replaced them on Boston Calling and Welcome to Rockville, but NIN make zero sense for Jazz Fest

But would be very welcomed by me, and Reznor lived here.

I would rather NIN than widespread panic or any other jam band

I'm just wondering if Foo Fighters will even continue. Taylor is not an easy drummer to replace, as he was so ultra close with Dave and was sort of the spirit of the band.

Yeah it's pretty similar to how it went for Led Zepplin. Robert Plant and John Bonham were pretty tight and I think the main reason Plant didn't want to do Zepplin anymore is because he just couldn't see it without Bonham

It's definitely not NIN, because they already have a show on May 1

If they want to replace Foo with an alt-band, it seems RHCP, Pearl Jam or DMB (all open on May 1) seem the most likely replacements

RHCP

would make the most sense with their album coming out even though I really can't stand that band
