Excitable Boy
This song has a nice upbeat tempo and pop-sounding backing vocals, both the lyrics are some of the darkest I've ever heard.

Looking For The Next Best Thing is a very good song.
Mercedes used to have a commercial in which they state "all alone on the road to perfection." I really hope Zevon got some money for that cause it's out of that song.

My shite's fricked Up
Pretty poignant considering what he was going through at the time...
Weirdly enough that song came out 2 years before he knew he had cancer. It was on the "Life'll Kill You" album (one of his better) and while it's almost morbidly obsessed with death, illness, and aging; as far as Zevon knew his health was just fine.

I always wondered if WZ knew he was sick when he wrote My shite's fricked Up. I know he said that he didn't go to doctors for many years, but I would think that he would have been having symptoms for sometime before he was actually diagnosed.
