Edward sharpe and magnetic zeros

Of monsters and men

Heard dirty paws on xm radio the other day and wow.. They stole the chord changes, the beat, and the "hey!" tagline.

It is nearly impossible not to make a song that doesn't sound like another. Both good songs, I see no sign of copying.

Posted this a few weeks back, homeboy... In someones "Songs that sound the same" thread.

The first time I heard OMAM, I swore it was Edward Sharpe... My buddy who is a musician swears they don't sound alike

I know they can't think they are fooling anyone. But they are Icelandic, so maybe they do.

Same chords yes. Same song? That's a stretch, but yeah there are some pretty strong similarities. It also doesn't help that their is a male and female singer.

They essentially copied the feel and a lot of characteristics of the song.. The formula.

OMAM - Dirty Paws

With my ears, I definitely hear some glaring "artistic borrowing".

Wow... Both songs definitely have elements that relate back to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes.

It has to be influenced and slightly copied from that song, but I say it is different enough. I mean it is the same in a lot of ways but it is different is just as many.

I mean, I know I'm not the only one who heard it. If you google those two bands, a lot of other people noticed it as well.
