Ear protection for child while playing drums

My kid recently came upon a drum set and we’ve started him on lessons. He’s really enjoying it, but I feel he may need some ear protection.
Can someone please provide recommendations?

My kid's School of Rock program uses Earasers. Might not have a little kid version though.

Wear cup headphones. He can feed in click tracks, metronomes, backing tracks. He will be accustomed to them too if and when it comes time to record.

Personally, I've always hated over-the-ear cans (just a personal "feel" thing for me), but I think they would be the best choice for a child, unless the child is old enough to tolerate in-ear buds.
I use custom-molded in-ears when I gig or play at home, but I use some of these for backups:
KZ ZST In-Ears
They're universal-fit, inexpensive at $20, very comfortable, and do a great job of reducing the dB levels.
