Merle just has so many great songs. I've never heard a merle song I didn't love.

Yeah, I can understand that. Particularly with country music, if you find an artist you love, its hard not to enjoy every track they record. I'm that way with Waylon.
Sadly enough, I was fortunate enough to have seen Waylon perform at the grand ole opry with Jesse. Unfortunately, I was 12 at the time and hadn't realize his greatness at such a young age. Me and Bobby Mcgee was the only song I knew at the time...time machines would be cool...Haha

Haha, interesting comparison. I see you think highly of Waylon as well. I seen Willie, Waylon, merle, paycheck, hank Jr, George Jones live. Never cash sadly...but the rest I almost consider my heroes. And that's coming from a 32 year old that grew up in NOLA .
My friends clowned me at LSU days for Waylon is cd player nonstop. But frick it, that outlaw country gets me going. I can relate to Dinosaur and really think hank jr wrote that for me...Haha
