How is his name pronounced?
I found a factory sealed record by him, live from Montreax fest 1977, he is missing teeth so I knew it was legit zydeco.

Actually just last week I happened to hear an interview w/his son
He pronounces it "Sha-Neer" AND "Shen-yay"
Depends on the situation/context. In one song I heard he pronounced it "Sha-neer" so it would rhyme w/an "ear" word

In the early 70s we would drive in from Texas to see Clifton at Jay's Lounge and Cockpit (yes, they had chicken fights in the back!)
