can i transfer songs from itunes to a android?

Yes, but you don't use iTunes. When you hook up to the computer, your phone starts at USB charging. Go into the pull down menu and tap for more options. Select file transfer. Then you go into your music folder on your computer and copy the files over onto your phone like it's any old external storage device.

This is reason number 1 why Android > iOS

I transferred them directly into Google play music.
Made them accessable, then I went back and xferred them manually at leisure...

If you have access to the actual files on your computer, Android will work. You just have to find where iTues, Amazon Music, etc stores the files then transfer with ease.
