Kind of a specific request, but can anyone point me to some artists/bands in this particular genre? Think of America's Ventura Highway and Sister Golden Hair or The Eagles - Tequilla sunrise.
I'll take any suggestions, but I prefer newer artists like Jonathan Wilson.

The first Dawes album, North Hills, is pretty "Laurel Canyon" in its vibe.

Would John Stewart qualify?

Glen Frey and Browne were neighbors(or roommates) and co wrote Take It Easy.
Add in JD Souther and Linda Ronstadt
