I was kind of worried when Oli and Jordan started talking about going more techno/electronic - especially after most of their songs on AMO weren't near as hard as the stuff on That's The Spirit
However, Parasite Eve and Obey are both pretty badass! Looking forward to the upcoming album

I’m super pumped for this album after the last 3 songs. I kinda got some linkin Park vibes from obey. Oli’s voice sound much better in this song. You can tell he’s been practicing vocals.
But the obey music video took an unexpected turn at the end.

Oli’s lyrics lately have a very serious and aggressive message but there’s a playfulness to them now since he got past his own demons.
This song.
“People in positions of power run your life, but love is the way out/conquers all.”
And just like Parasite Eve, it’s very cheeky and sarcastic.
I think with Oli doing the videos, people are getting to see a more comprehensive look at his message.

It’s funny you say this, because the last 3 songs for me have been “this is where Linkin Park should have evolved.”
Linkin Park’s discography to me post Minutes to Midnight is very confused and disjointed.
BMTH. These guys are just coming right now. They know who they are. They put their talent up front and don’t have the ego clashes that a lot of bands do when that happens. Embracing the 21st century and technology.
BMTH is figuring it out. Linkin Park got lost post M2M.
ETA: this song just opens it up a little bit. Ludens and Parasite Eve are similar formulas. This is much much more straight forward from jump street. It’s exciting to see them make a more traditional song structure too. They keep raising the bar to the point I get nervous on their releases now. Worried they will let me down. And they’re 3/3. I’m more excited now after seeing this one.
