Just came across the style music about a month ago after watching the movie drive and watching an episode of Twin Peaks with the Chromatics.
Been listening to some of the songs and it is very nostalgic. The 80's sound mixed seems unique to a certain age grouo though so I could see later and younger generations not digging it so much.

JMO - But I find it the other side of distracting, to the point of annoying, and as welcomed as an auto-tuned singer.
