I like these guys.
Paul Waggoner is a supremely talented guitarist
Dusty would be the best lead in almost any band
Dan Briggs is small but that dude is the somewhat rare bass player that elevates things
And Blake Richardson makes Neil Peart sweat a bit
Loved, loved their earlier stuff but interested what yall think about their newer records

They have really grown as a band. I love the newer proggier stuff and prefer it over their older albums. Parallax II blew me away when it came out.

They were one of the first metal bands I got into when I went into a project of making myself listen to metal music in order to understand the appeal.
Colors, the Great Misdirect, Alaska, and the Silent Circus were all in heavy rotation for me for years. I never really got into their later stuff.

I like prog stuff more overall so I definitely was a fan of that shift, but I still really like their older stuff as well
I’ll be seeing them in Asheville with CHON and Intervals in a few weeks

That sounds like a great show! I meant to see them when they came through New Orleans with Devin Townsend but I broke my leg and couldn’t drive. BTBAM is one of the more creative bands out there right now.
