Not technically since he was the drummer and played in the back of the band, but he did do most of the lead vocals.

Same could be said for Levon Helm.

Glen Frey sang many of the lead vocals for the Eagles and would probably be considered more as the frontman.

Can't believe someone hasn't mentioned Ronnie Van Zant or did I miss His name...

This is so damn true. He was on PBS recently fronting Queen and it was awesome. Huge shoes to fill and I can't imagine someone doing a better job than Paul Rogers.

It's either Bon Scott or Freddie Mercury.
Ronnie Van Zant, Ozzy and Paul Stanley round out the top 5 in my opinion.
