American Aquarium released a new tour schedule today that shows them playing the Bandito Festival in Baton Rouge on Aug. 21. Anybody have any ideas on who else might be playing now that it has apparently been rescheduled?

I asked Bill Davis from Dash Rip Rock what their date for Bandito was and he said June 26th.

Yeah, it’s scheduled for June but I got an alert from Drivin n Cryin that their Bandito date is scheduled for August. I haven’t seen any updates from the festival itself

Not sure it's terribly smart to schedule a festival exactly one week before another similar festival (Oyster Fest) in the same location at the hottest time of the year. Then Baton Rouge is not exactly famous for wisdom in booking musical events.

I love how they would do the BR Blues Fest same week as French Quarter fest every year

Got to see Buddy Guy with very little crowd. Blues Fest is a great event that is poorly attended relative to what it has to offer because it tries to compete with FQF.

The actual festival hasn’t even been announced yet officially for august 21st.

When Eric died the whole thing got scrambled.

Elizabeth Cook mentioned she’ll be there as well.

Man, that's terrible news. Was a cause of death ever revealed? I can't find anything using the old google machine.

Was that the organizer of Bandito? I met the guy putting it together at Robert Ellis a few years ago before the first one. That would be terrible news, real cool guy and seemed to have a lot of contacts in BR he knew a lot of the folks we were with.

Yes, Eric was the founder and ran several restaurants downtown Baton Rouge. Great guy.
