No hologram but it comes with a digital rip to download and it just sounds fantastic. I have only bought the 2112 and Moving Pictures so far but I have an old copy of Exit Stage Left and I want to get some more of the reissues. Rush just sounds so damn good.

Ever43,
Here is a slice from the B&W sit pertaining to the technical specs for the 802d speakers (not sure if you have diamonds or not).
As you can see, the nominal impedance is 8 ohms, but the low drops to 3.5 ohms...not a wicked load, but not a cake walk for an amp either. I will look up an earlier Stereophile review where they put it on the test bench to see at what frequency they dip to 3.5 ohms--that is probably why you may have issues driving them.
Have you tried running them off the 4 ohm tap on the Mac amp? You may have better results doing that.

Thanks for the heads up. That one has been out of print for a bit I think. It's hands down my favorite album of his.

I have the "Fly by Night" reissue done about 6 years ago and the "Permanant Waves" MoFi from about 4 years ago--they are just ok--maybe it has to do with the fact I've heard those records so much the last 30 years that I get bored with them.
I intentionally didn't listen to 2112 for a few years so I wouldn't get burned out on it--it is a masterpiece IMO.
I did the same thing with Led Z...didn't play any Zep on any of my rigs for probably 7-8 years. I finally cracked about 8 years ago when Classic Records did the first reissue on 200g vinyl...and man was it good. I listened to Zep II from beginning to end and when it was over thought, " Holy Crap...these guys did this in 1968!!--that record was ahead of its time".

I am just starting to get into Ryan Adams. I never really gave him a chance until one day I was driving across the Causeway and Sirius the Loft channel was playing an entire live recording by him...SOLD!
Great stuff. I am about to order a few LPs of his on my next LP order from elusivedisc.
Wanna suggest me 4 albums?

Heartbreaker, Gold, Cold Roses (from when he was with his band the Cardinals) and Love is Hell would be my top 4. Ashes and Fire, Follow the Lights, Jacksonville City Nights, and Easy Tiger are honorable mentions. IMHO, he is the best singer songwriter alive right now (excluding the obvious Bob Dylan, McCartney, etc.). Let's say best modern singer songwriter. Some albums I could do without but the good ones are really, really good.
The song " Let It Ride" alone was enough to get me hooked. I think I first heard him when they included a song of his in the Old School soundtrack.
Reminds me of Gram Parsons at some times, even has some of the demons too.

Marco, I sent you an email.

I view Cold Roses and Jacksonville City Nights as companion albums because they were recorded so close together and have a similar sound.

I'm gonna put in an LP order today, so I'll let you know what I order.
I am running errands in Metry today, so I may run uptown and pick up Moving Pictures--it will be good listen before I stream the Phish show tonight.

I have the first 4 Replacements albums on the way. I already have 2 different CD issues of them but I couldn't pass up the new vinyl.

Ended up gettin a record player today. Audio Technica AT-LP60 with Alesis M1active 320 USB speakers.
It's nothing crazy, but for about $200 I think it sounds pretty good. I'm sure I'll end up upgrading, but this is something to start with.
A few record purchases over the weekend as well
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
Jimi Hendrix - Axis: Bold as Love
Alabama Shakes - Sound and Colour
John Mayer - Continuum (haters gonna hate, but it's a favorite of mine)

Enjoy your new set up.
How are you running the turntable into the active speakers?

Just the standard stereo inputs (red/white).
I sound dumb as hell discussing this

Do you have a phono pre amp I between the turntable and the stereo inputs of the active speakers?
Posted on 8/16/15 at 10:55 pm to Marco Esquandolas
No I do not. Should I look into getting that?
Posted on 8/16/15 at 11:12 pm to Marco Esquandolas
It says the turntable has a built in pre amp LINK
Posted on 8/16/15 at 11:21 pm to CocoLoco
Looks like it does--you are good to go.

it seems like this turntable can be upgraded quite a bit by adding better pieces. Any suggestions?
