We are in Houston and our daughter is heart broken that Jojo has been moved from August to January, it was her 2020 Christmas present.

We looked and it seems like Luke Combs, who she loves, will be here in 2021. So will Lauren Daigle.

Would a mom & 7 year old be out of place at Luke Combs ? We've been to a million concerts and never paid attention to kids.

We just want a mommy / daughter trip with a "fancy hotel" and Olive Garden + concert.

We took our girls to their first show (One Direction @ Reliant Stadium) in 2014...so they were, what, 8 and 10.

It was all 4 of us, though. But they had a blast. My wife thought I was silly - "Mr Shedder guitar player wearing earplugs for O.D."

I just smiled and said, "This ain't Disney on Ice, Love-Bug. You will see how 'silly' I am."

Only took 10-15 seconds worth of screaming teenie-boppers and she had both ears finger-plugged, looked at me and mouthed "fricking a-hole."

Kafka,

We explained hitchhiking to our daughter, who loves martial arts.

She said she can't get in the car with a stranger or she would have to hold his neck until he can't breathe for trying to kidnap her or her daddy would shoot him in the head.

Guess that option is off the table haha.

I'd take her to Lauren Daigle.

I see no issue with this. I wish my father took me to concerts when I was 7

Thanks for the input + ideas about ear plugs.

In the end , either one will be a great memory for them both.

Took my 8 year old son to his 1st concert to see the RHCP and Babymetal back in 2017. He was fine and been to many when he was young since then. Even metal shows if you stay away from the pit are fine.

Took my son to see AJR at the philmore in New Orleans when he was 8 for his first show. He had a blast, def bring ear plugs.
I'd opt for the Lauren Daigle show in your situation

It depends on the venue. I wouldn't go taking a 7 year old to a rowdy place, but if it's a nice venue with seating, I would absolutely take her.

Took my son to a couple of Rush shows when he was 8 & 10 years old. Was surprised how many youngsters I saw there.
Those were outdoor shows and we didn't need earplugs.

We saw Rush again in NOLA 2011 & I wish we had brought earplugs. It was too loud for him inside Smoothie King with Geddy's bass reverb & we listened to most of the show from the concessions area.
