I'm on a legends kick right now. I see he's playing the MS Coast in September and may be interested in going.

Tickets are $20 for the Hard Rock show. Kinda steep for ol' Rick, no?

My first concert ever was Rick Springfield and Corey Hart at the Lake Charles Civic Center. I think I was about 10 years old. :csb:

Saw him in 1984 Birmingham because the girl I was seeing wanted to go. It blew chunks imho.

wife drug me to his concert in Marksville a few years back. Nothing like an aging rocker trying to hold on to his youth. Not too bad tho. He just doesnt have enough material to keep me interested. Go see the Chee Weez instead.

That's my biggest concern. I only remember two of his songs--and I actually have his grestest hits cd somewhere around the house.

You know that Boogie Night's scene cemented "Jesse's Girl"'s legacy.

Doesn't the guy say "Ricky Springfield! He's my boy!!" or something to that effect? Such a great scene.

legends kick

Let's tap that brake a bit in referring to Springfield as a legend.

see thats the thing. He, like many "legends" try to push new material when all we really want to hear is the old stuff we remember. I don't recall being impressed by his latest efforts.

Wife saw him months back. She really enjoyed it. Of course, she had his poster in her room when she was an early teen. Said he looked to be in great shape to be near 60. None of those things would motivate me to go see him.

Will be in Shreveport at the end of September. Trying to talk the wife into going with her friends and leave me at home...
