Anyone listening to Benjamin Booker?

Somewhat of a spin-off. The "African-Americans in Rock n Roll" thread prompted this. There are a lot of up and comers that are black, bringing rock back to its roots. If you aren't listening to this kid you should. He's got chops for sure.

Yeah. He's pretty good live. Jack White helped him get started up so I checked him out. Glad I did.

I saw him play at a small bar last year. He is really good and really funny on stage.

I like the first single he put out, Violent Shiver. But I listened to the whole album once and wasn't impressed and never listened to it again.

ive seen him a few times - always good, but i think the hype outpaced the music on him a bit.
i would buy tix to see him again without hesitation, but for a minute he was one of the hotter new names around and that doesnt seem justified (yet)
