I haven't really seen anyone else post about this album (other than Baloo, who said "best album since Slanted and Enchanted") and it has gotten pretty mediocre reviews (especially for AC), but damn I love it. Album of the year, and it hasn't left my car stereo in over a week.

Sure, it is busy as hell and pretty chaotic, but that is how I like Animal Collective best. Anybody else has an opinion on it?

I like it, but it still needs to digest for me to rank it among other AC albums.

Thay being said, Applesauce is an amazingly catchy song.

Applesauce is my favorite I think. And I would agree that it is too early to rank it in the AC canon, but I certainly can't stop listening.

Well played.

My dislike of AC is pretty well known among we indie rock types. Throwing in a Pavement slam as well? Well constructed. I tip my cap to you, sir.

i kind of had to after you said earlier this week that eternal damnation is equivalent to listening to an AC album beginning to end.

I, too, have never been able to get into AC.

Does it require drug use?

Some of their early stuff is pretty trippy and I just can't get into it, especially their first album. The last 3 albums however are much more accessible to the average listener. Give em a shot.
